I Am Capable

Hello, Friday!  I just got in from my glorious half day at work, and now I’m planning to soak up some time around the house this afternoon.  It’s been a very busy week, and I need some down time.  I’m hoping to spend most of the evening on the couch and be in bed by 8:30.  I lead quite the exciting life, wouldn’t you say?

Honestly, I really do need to be in bed somewhat early tonight because I have another race in the morning!  This is the one that is going to truly count, and give me a time that I can work from if I choose to continue down this crazy running path that I’m on.  That being said, I want to make sure I do everything possible to make all the stars align for tomorrow morning.  Hence, the early bed time.

Speaking of running, you all know that this is a new thing for me, and it doesn’t come as naturally for me as it does for some people.  You also know that I’m a huge lover and believer in motivational quotes.  Words are my thing, and I always get inspiration from them.  So obviously I’ve been trolling Pinterest for some running motivation in the last few days, and I found some really good truths I wanted to share with you all.  Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration for whatever it is your wanting to accomplish!

Good, no?  My boards on Pinterest are full of these kinds of pins.  I think quotes and recipes are all I ever look for!  I hope you all have a great weekend!  See ya Monday!

P.S. I promise my true love, backpacking, is not getting muscled out by this new-found running thing.  In fact, I found myself missing the mountains so badly this morning, it was a physical ache.  So just to keep things even, here’s this little gem.

Funny- I wrote about running today TOO. I’m trying to learn to at least LIKE it again. I got over the fact that I don’t need to ever run a marathon (or more than a mile even) unless I really want to. Hiking and backpacking are definitely WAY better to me!!

I loved your post on running the other day (especially the title!). I am enjoying it a little more, but I definitely see it has an interesting form of exercise rather than a true love. Backpacking is always the true love! Speaking of-are you ready to turn your hiking passion into backpacking? I’m totally coming back to Colorado some time soon to make you do it ;)

Have a great race, Natalie! I’d argue since this is a “true” 5-K race (not a color run or something like that), so you’ll achieve an automatic PR when you cross the finish line. Anyway, run hard, leave it all on the course, and don’t forget to smile and have fun!

Good luck on your race, Natalie! :) What keeps me running? Well, I’m not the best at keeping with it but when I go out for a run, the thing that keeps me going is reminding myself of the feeling after I 1) cross the finish line or 2) get back to my house after a loop run!
