Happy Saturday, friends! Sorry to have gone MIA on all of you yesterday. We had a bit of some not great unexpected family drama to deal with. Everyone is fine, but let’s just say that sometimes people suck and we’ll leave it at that!
In other (happier) news, it’s the weekend! John and I are enjoying our unexpectedly free Saturday. Somehow the day is almost gone, and I’m not even sure what we did. Aren’t those the best? Normally I love having things planned and adventures to go on, but after a solid two months of being scheduled to the hilt, I am absolutely loving the fact that I am staring at a January with nothing to do! Perhaps John and I will get some winter hiking in if I don’t wimp out in the cold 
.
I’ve spent the last few days focusing on my one word resolution, and I’m already sensing a change in my outlook. As I’ve been thinking about my word this week, it occurred to me that words are always a source of inspiration to me. I read sentences in novels that cause me to wax philosophical about life. Songs move me to tears more often than I’d like to admit. I earn my living as a librarian! I dig words. I’m a nerd like that.
As it’s still the first week of January, lots of people are focusing on their resolutions and goals. In an effort to help you all take those first steps toward the awesome things you want to accomplish this year, I thought I would share some of the great motivational quotes I’ve come across recently. Seriously, how gorgeous is he?! I can’t believe I’ve been missing that for so long! Yesterday I offered to pay the postage if my mom would send season 2 to me. I’m going nuts not knowing!! I taped the show last night, but I’m staying strong. I will not cave and watch it before I see season 2.

I’m totally a words person too. The Thoreau quote is one of my all time favorite quotes.
