Hi everyone! I’m still hanging around in my hometown having a blast with my family. We’re all in town this weekend to celebrate my grandpa’s 80th birthday! He loves being the center of attention, and he truly loves being surround by all his family so he is geniuely having the time of his life. There’s still lots of fun to be had before I head back east this evening, but I thought I’d pop in to show you some of the snapshots of my weekend so far.
I snuck in a dinner Friday night with these two fabulous people. I’m sure you recognize my aunt from her trip to see me a few weeks ago, and it is my pleasure to introduce you to my dad!
My mom, sister, and I had to go shopping for some party duds!
My sister and I love baking together, and these were our contribution to the party last night. Caramel Apple Cupcakes=Genius!
This is my stepdad, Joel, in his first ever blog appearance!
The newlyweds
Sister photo-op!

I also wanted to take a minute to quickly recap the Yoga Challenge for this week. If you’ve been reading for a few weeks, you know I’ve been participating in Courtney’s Yoga Challenge for the month of October, and I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of it! I’m going to have to use the next week and a half to finish the challenge with a bang because, unfortunately, this was another week of a less than stellar effort. I can tell you that I have lots of good excuses, but I won’t bore you with my attempts to make myself feel better!
I did manage to get in one quick session this week, and I was actually pretty happy about it because I talked my sister into doing it with me! She was really excited when I stuck Jillian’s Yoga Meltdown in Friday afternoon, but by the end her enthusiasm had waned a bit. Let’s just say I got some pretty strong language in the middle of a downward dog! Jillian worked her magic again
I’m off to for Round 2 of the celebration, and then the long drive home! I hope you all are having a festive weekend too!
Did you have any family time this weekend? How is yoga going? I promise you can be honest

Working this weekend = no family time for Chelsie
.. hoping to change that a bit within the next few weekends when I have a bit more time off to share!!
I might just need the recipe for those muffins, my dear! Soooo glad you’re having fun!! xo
They were so good! You’d love them. I’ll definitely share!
Natalie, you look *so much* like your mom! You two are definitely mother and daughter.
Even though I’m not participating in Courtney’s yoga challenge, I have a really good week of practices. Unfortunately, though, my instructor will be out of town this week, so I’m going from three sessions to zero.
Have fun with the fam today!
Thank you so much, Carrie! That makes my day because I think my mom is just beautiful. No one ever tells us that…..usually people think I’m the spitting image of my dad!
That’s too funny–both of you are beautiful of course.
family time is the best. looks like you have been having a blast. love the boots! good style sense right there.
You should have the seen the whole outfit! She’s stylin’!
Carmel apple cupcakes really is genius!! I had dinner with my mom on Friday night, so that counts as family time. We’re all close in the area….which means that I usually see them one-on-one and we don’t have time altogether, unfortunately.
One-on-one time is great! I definitely wish I had more of it with my family. The cupcakes were delicious! I’m going to have to ask my sister where she got the recipe so I can at least post the link.
Hey, you’re giving it an attempt – that’s okay!
I loved hearing your sisters’ reaction to JM Yoga Meltdown – too funny!
It was hilarious, Courtney! She was really hating me by the end, and all I heard about the next day was how sore she was!
