Happy Saturday, everyone! What do you all have going on today? I’ve got a few things on the agenda, but first let’s talk about date night. John and I headed out to Ft. Smith last night for dinner and a movie. Of course, we had to throw in a few errands, but they were brief. We made a stop at Best Buy to look at computers. Since entering the blog world it’s become glaringly obvious that a new computer is going to have to happen sooner rather than later. I’m thinking about going the iPad route. What do you guys think?
Afterwards we had to swing by Lowe’s. John is a bit of a carpenter and he has some Christmas projects that he’s working on today. So supplies were needed! Of course, he had to do some dreaming while we were there.
Just so you know….he called this thing “My Precious.”
And then the official part of date night commenced! We had our eye on Red Lobster because John is a huge fan of Endless Shrimp. Unfortunately, there was a huge crowd waiting on the deck which would’ve made making the movie impossible so we opted for Chilis instead. Check out this salad. Chilis has become a new favorite since I discovered it.
We had just enough time to make it to the movie. We’ve both been waiting to see Lawless for a few weeks, and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this one. I’m a history buff so period movies always appeal to me. I have to admit I was a little bit apprehensive of this one after my sister told me how violent it was. She was not lying. There was a lot of horrific scenes, but I was on my game and turned my head in all the right places so everything was fine. I definitely recommend this movie if you can handle the violence. But, trust me, if I can, you can. All in all, date night was a success!
I got to sleep in just a tad today which is wonderful because even one month end, I still haven’t gotten used to “school hours” again. I knew one thing I wanted to get done today was a really good workout, and shortly after I got up I received some inspiration. My sister ran her very first 5K this morning and placed 3rd in her age group! I’m not much of a runner, but I decided that sounded good to me today and pounded out a 5K on my own on the treadmill.
The rest of the day has just been about chores and errands. Not a whole lot of fun, but sometimes it’s nice to not have much of a schedule. Now if you’ll excuse me, a night of take-out and a rental movie awaits me. I think we’re going to try What To Expect When You’re Expecting. I’ve heard it’s really funny.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a book review! Can’t wait to tell you guys all about the one I finished up last night. Wow!
